About the Cal Poly Maritime Academy:
Cal Poly Maritime Academy is a campus of the California State University and is the only degree-granting maritime academy on the West Coast. Located on the scenic Vallejo waterfront, the campus serves a student population of approximately 1000 undergraduates and 50 graduate students.
Cal Poly Maritime Academy offers seven baccalaureate degrees in Business Administration, International Strategy and Security, Facilities Engineering Technology, Marine Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Transportation, and Oceanography. The undergraduate curriculum includes licensing programs for future merchant marine, coast guard, and naval reserve officers. Cal Maritime also offers a Master of Science in Transportation and Engineering Management degree, as well as a number of extended learning programs and courses.
Job Duties: MTH 212 grader will grade quizzes and homework assignments only. Grader will work with instructor to create solutions and give detailed feedback while grading. This position is limited to two hours per week.
Required Qualifications: Passed MTH 212 with at least a grade of B.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to give detailed feedback and guidance in mathematics work.

- This position requires the recommendation of a faculty member to be hired.
- Students applying for Instructional Student Assistant positions must be admitted or registered as a CSU student. Under supervision, Instructional Student Assistants in this classification perform teaching, grading, or tutoring duties for the majority of work hours in a given appointment in a given academic department or equivalent administrative unit over the course of an academic term. The work may be performed on-campus or remote under an agreement with a campus in the CSU system. Academic Student Employees may not concurrently hold a faculty or staff position.

Supplemental Information
Eligibility to Work: Applicants must provide proof of U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States within three days of the date of hire.
Integration: The California State University Board of Trustees has approved the integration of the California State University Maritime Academy with California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, effective July 1, 2025. The two campuses will form one academic institution operated as California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and all employment positions with California State University Maritime Academy are subject to this transition. Employees hired in the period after the Trustees’ approval on November 21, 2024 and prior to the integration date on July 1, 2025 will have their employment transitioned to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Employment shall continue to be subject to California State University policies and applicable collective bargaining agreements. Any changes in organizational structure, reporting relationships, or employment conditions will be communicated as details are finalized.
