Duties serve to optimize resource allocation and support strategic decision-making. The position serves as the primary departmental budget analyst for Housing, performing reconciliations, monitoring budget and actual spending, and reviewing and processing paperwork related to financial transactions while ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The AA/S Exempt I uses considerable judgement and discretion to research issues and propose corrective action as needed, and oversees the work of student assistants. The AA/S Exempt I works collaboratively with other departments on campus ensuring the smooth operation of Housing accounting and budget processes and procedures. In addition, the AA/S Exempt I provides information to the Assistant Vice President of Student Enterprises, Inc. as needed related to Housing operations. The AA/S Exempt I actively participates in initiatives to improve financial processes and serves as a resource for departmental staff, contributing to the overall fiscal health and sustainability of Housing while facilitating its mission to provide safe and inclusive housing options for students at the university.
