Instructional Support Tech III Bakersfield
Join the College of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Engineering (NSME) at California State University, Bakersfield as an Instructional Support Technician III. This hands-on position provides instructional, technical, operational, and safety support for the Environmental Studies Area (ESA), NSME greenhouse facilities, and school-wide laboratory operations. The position coordinates daily ESA and greenhouse operations; maintains living collections, environmental systems, equipment, and instructional resources; and supports faculty and students engaged in laboratory instruction, field-based learning, and research. The role also assists with facility use, purchasing and inventories, maintenance coordination, conservation education, community outreach, and provides lead direction to student assistants, interns, and volunteers. As the NSME Safety Officer, the incumbent also helps coordinate laboratory safety training, inspections, hazardous materials and waste management, safety documentation, and regulatory compliance in partnership with faculty, staff, and campus Safety & Risk Management.
